Encore Capital Group Teams Up Again With Habitat for Humanity

March 11, 2019

SAN DIEGO, April 21, 2017 — Encore Capital Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ECPG), an international specialty finance company, today announced it will hold its fifth annual Global Volunteer Day on Saturday April 22, in San Diego, CA, Phoenix, AZ, San Antonio, TX and St. Cloud, MN and five other locations (*see below) bringing together 300 employees who will give up their Saturday to give back to their communities.

Encore employees across the United States and throughout the globe will build homes for families alongside Habitat for Humanity—an international non-profit that provides affordable homes to low-income families around the world. “Helping others towards self-empowerment and onto a road of financial well-being is one of the goals of Encore’s corporate social responsibility efforts,” said Sheryl Wright, Encore’s Senior Vice President of External Affairs. “We are pleased to support Habitat for Humanity in its efforts to provide housing for families through a financial contribution and 1,000+ volunteer hours we are providing to Habitat builds.”

This year, California State Senator, Joel Anderson, will again be at the San Diego worksite location to lend a helping hand in his 38th Senate District: “One of the reasons why I come back to support Encore’s Habitat for Humanity project year after year is because Encore’s hardworking and energetic volunteers make it a meaningful day, and Habitat for Humanity works hard to empower very deserving families in our community.” The Senator added, “I am eager to get my work gear on and once again help build houses for my constituents.”

In 2013, Encore Capital Group launched a global Corporate Social Responsibility program, which demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting employees and communities through volunteerism, financial donations and strategic non-profit partnerships. To date, Encore has donated more than $850,000 globally to support non-profits like Habitat for Humanity that offer a path to dignity and financial self-sufficiency through education, job skills training and affordable housing. Further, Encore has supported employees in volunteering more than 16,000 hours of community service to non-profits in their communities.

Employees at Encore’s international locations in New Delhi, India and San Jose, Costa Rica will also participate through voluntary work and financial support in benefit of Literacy India and Hogar Magdala Costa Rica, respectively.
