Encore Publishes 2023 ESG Report
Encore’s 2023 report highlights how its global colleagues worked together to make a positive impact
Today, Encore Capital Group published our 2023 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, sharing how our colleagues around the globe worked together to empower people and communities, support a healthier planet and champion responsible business.
We recognize that the progress made on our ESG journey and ability to deliver on our Mission – to create pathways to economic freedom for our consumers – is dependent on our 7,400 dedicated colleagues around the world. From ensuring our consumers are at the heart of our business to co-creating a strong company culture to being a dependable neighbor in the communities where we operate, at our core we are people helping people.
“Caring for and empowering people is essential to who we are as a business and critical to advancing progress on our ESG strategy,” said Ashish Masih, Encore’s President and CEO. “As I reflect on this past year and all that we accomplished, I am most proud of how our colleagues from around the globe worked together to support and uplift our consumers, colleagues and communities.”
Encore’s five key ESG pillars help us make progress on the areas that matter most to our business and stakeholders. The following are key highlights from each pillar, and you can learn more in Encore’s 2023 ESG Report:
- Consumers: Encore continues to support consumers through our empathetic service model, ensuring that all interactions are driven by our Mission, Vision and Values and that consumers experiencing hardships have access to the support they need.
- Colleagues: Great Place to Work®, the global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures, certified six countries where Encore operates – France, India, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and U.S.
- Community: Encore colleagues supported 18 charity organizations and donated thousands of essential items such as food, clothes, and personal care products during our annual multi-day global event – Encore Connected Week.
- Environment: MCM in India was awarded the “Best Water Preservation Initiative of the Year” for its work with local partner iamgurgaon and the office also received LEED Gold certification for its new site.
- Operating Responsibly: We further operationalized our ESG governance structure by establishing three working groups comprised of subject matter experts and leaders from across Cabot and MCM responsible for further embedding Encore’s ESG strategy across our global organization.
As we look to the future, we will continue to work together to move our ESG strategy forward, furthering our positive impact on the consumers we serve, the colleagues who make us who we are and the communities where we live and work.
